Prison

When the nature of the complexity,
Bars the world from you,
The bars only create a sphere,
Where there’s just Jesus and You.

  1. Maybe that is why prisoners eventually become more-Christian. Plus, it is hard to get an excuse not to get spiritual when one's guilt is written across them for all to see ...

  2. When i was writing this, i didn't really mean it literally. There are certain situations we get into where no one seems to understand, they might care but they don't know what it feels inside and because of that, the situation isolates you from them. but even if no one understands, Jesus does, so even if the problem seems so big that others can't help, the issue simply brings you closer to God because He alone understands and He alone can help.Although literally it does make senseas well, u know being in prison and the like.about someone's guilt being written across for all to see, i don't know, some people could be innocent. Take Paul in the Bible for instance.

  3. And when you are inside those bars with Him,it feels like you are not with anyone. That is why sometimes we ask ourselves if really He's there, and if He's really watching.Because so many question run around in your head and nobody is there to give you the answers. The best way to get through those bars to the 'other' side...is to have Faith.

  5. It's interesting, if you've been there you understand the poem immediately. Sometimes we feel alone not knowing that Christ is closer than ever.

  10. What's with you poets and lines? Lines, lines, lines. Read bewteen the lines you say. Y'all use words like hitherto, therefore, henceforth, and the really big ones like "pulchritude." Can you [poet kind], even whistle a straight tune or does it have to be cryptic as well? And what about people like us [me] who find lines too cryptic? People like us [me] who like pictures, pop-ups even... What are we to do?

Having said that, I'd like to say that this is a beautifully crafted peice. Ooh, and bars can be good...in a morbid kinda way...I guess.

  12. Lulu, I agree! The only word I ever think when I come here is "beautiful"! What's the point? I will also start leaving dots just to let Feather know I was here and I have read.

I want to be a poet like Lulu and Feather!
